Consignment Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before submitting your item(s) for consignment with Half Half Archives. By submitting your item via our Consignment Form, you agree to be bound by the following terms.

  1. Authenticity & Ownership
    • 100% Authenticity Guarantee: The Consignor (you) guarantees that all items submitted are 100% authentic. Half Half Archives strictly prohibits the sale of counterfeit, replica, or infringed goods.
    • Authentication Process: All items will undergo a rigorous authentication process upon receipt. Half Half Archives reserves the right to use professional third-party authentication services.
    • Counterfeit Policy: If an item is determined to be counterfeit or unauthentic by our experts or third-party authenticators, the item will not be listed. The Consignor must arrange and pay for return shipping, plus an administrative and authentication fee of HK$300 per item. Unauthentic items not claimed within 30 days will be disposed of.
    • Legal Ownership: The Consignor warrants that they are the legal owner of the item(s) and that the items are free from any liens, encumbrances, or disputes.

  2. Right of Refusal

    • Sole Discretion: Half Half Archives reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to accept or refuse any item submitted for consignment. We are under no obligation to list or accept an item if it does not align with our brand aesthetic, current inventory curation, quality standards, or market demand.

  3. Consignment Period & Exclusivity

    • Minimum Listing Period: The minimum consignment period is 60 days from the date the item is officially listed on our platform.
    • Exclusivity: During this 60-day period, the item must be sold exclusively through Half Half Archives. The Consignor agrees not to list the item on other platforms, marketplaces, or social media channels.
    • Early Withdrawal: If the Consignor requests to withdraw the item prior to the end of the 60-day period, an early withdrawal fee of HK$200 per item will apply to cover photography, marketing, and administrative costs. After 60 days, withdrawal is free of charge with a 7-day advance notice.

  4. Pricing, Discounts, and Commission Rates

    • Pricing Agreement: The final listing price will be mutually agreed upon by both parties before the item goes live.
    • Promotions & Discounts: To facilitate a sale, Half Half Archives reserves the right to apply a minor discount of up to 5% or offer seasonal promotional discounts without prior consent, provided it does not drop below the pre-agreed minimum payout.
    • Payout Schedule: Our commission is calculated as a percentage of the final sale price (excluding shipping fees paid by the buyer). Please refer to our Consignment Rates table for the breakdown.

  5. Condition, Repair & Restoration

    • Condition Disclosure: The Consignor must disclose all known flaws, damages, alterations, or missing accessories upon submission.
    • Restoration Work: If Half Half Archives recommends professional repair or restoration to enhance the item's market value, a formal quote will be provided to the Consignor.
    • Cost Deduction: No upfront payment is required for approved restoration work. The agreed cost will be directly deducted from the Consignor’s final payout upon a successful sale. If the item is withdrawn after 60 days without being sold, the Consignor must settle the restoration invoice before the item is returned.

  6. Inbound Shipping & Courier Collection

    • Shipping Options: The Consignor may ship the item using their preferred carrier (insured tracked shipping recommended) or opt for our Courier Collection Service.
    • Courier Service: If our Courier Collection Service is selected, the courier fee will be deducted from your final payout upon a successful sale. Half Half Archives is not liable for items lost or damaged in transit prior to arriving at our studio.

  7. Payout Terms

    • Payment Timeline: Payouts will be processed within 10 working days after the buyer's payment is confirmed and the item has been shipped.
    • Transaction Fees: Payouts will be made via FPS / Bank Transfer for Hong Kong consignors. For overseas sales or international bank transfers, any currency conversion or cross-border payment processing fees (if applicable from third-party gateways) may be deducted from the final payout.

  8. Risk, Liability, and Insurance

    • Item Care: Half Half Archives will take reasonable care of your items while in our possession (stored in a smoke-free, temperature-controlled studio).
    • Limitation of Liability: In the rare and unfortunate event of loss, theft, or irreparable damage to the item while in our physical custody, Half Half Archives’ liability is strictly limited to the agreed minimum payout value of the item (Final sale price minus our commission fee), not the retail or market replacement value.

  9. Unsold Items

    • If an item remains unsold after 60 days, Half Half Archives will contact the Consignor to discuss either:
      1. Lowering the agreed listing price to stimulate demand.
      2. Returning the item to the Consignor (shipping costs to be borne by the Consignor).
    • If any pre-agreed repair or restoration work has been performed on the item, the Consignor must fully settle the restoration invoice before the unsold item can be released and returned.
